Privacy Policy

Duplicount does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. No exceptions.

What this means in practice

• All file scanning, duplicate detection, and quarantine operations happen entirely on your Mac — nothing is sent to a server, to Duplicount, or to any third party.
• No account, sign-up, or identifier is required to use the app.
• History and reports generated by Duplicount stay stored locally on your device.
• Duplicount contains no trackers, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party analytics.

File access

Duplicount only requests access to the disks or folders you explicitly select, through macOS secure permissions (security-scoped bookmarks). This access can be revoked at any time from within the app ("Forget access").

Retention and deletion

Duplicount does not retain any personal data on a server. History and reports remain only on your device, under your control. Exported reports can be deleted like any other file. Access permissions for disks and folders can be revoked at any time from within the app using “Forget access”.

Purchases

Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Duplicount has no access to any payment information.

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here.
